For years, we believed that was where the story ended.

We were wrong.

Lore had assembled the manuscript alongside notebooks, marginalia, research, photographs, computer files, removable drives, and other working materials. As her archives were catalogued, we discovered coded writing, encrypted files, and password-protected pages within the author website her team had helped her maintain throughout her career.

Some of it has been recovered.

Most of it has not.

What we can now say with certainty is that Lore assembled these materials herself before she disappeared.

She called the collection her Vorlass.

We have made the decision to publish it.

What you are holding is not a reconstruction of Lore's final novel. We have not speculated on the missing ending. We have not completed unfinished passages or quietly chosen among competing drafts.
