VORLASS contains everything Lore Lassen left behind: her nearly completed manuscript, journals, notebooks, marginalia, emails, photographs, recordings, deleted files, search histories, private messages, computer documents, and the codes and riddles she concealed throughout her digital life.

The novel itself is almost finished.

Its ending is not.

Among Lore’s remaining materials are encrypted files, unfinished journal entries, strange annotations, concealed messages, and puzzles that appear to have been left deliberately for someone else to solve.

Perhaps for all of you.

As Lore’s publisher and the holder of her literary estate, NBodied Writing House will release the partially recovered archive in VORLASS and invite Lore’s readers to help us understand what she left behind.

Lore never treated reading as a passive act. She delighted in the theories her work inspired, encouraged readers to search beyond the page, and understood better than anyone that a story continues inside the people who receive it.

No one knows her patterns, her symbols, her obsessions, or her narrative sleights of hand better than the readers who have followed her from one book to the next.

That is why we will need you.

We will ask Lore’s readers to follow the clues threaded through her manuscript, decipher the codes hidden in her journals and margins, unlock the files she protected, and help us determine what she intended the final pages of her last novel to become.

Every recovered passage may bring us closer to the ending.

Every solved riddle may reveal another piece of Lore’s design.

Every interpretation, theory, and proposed conclusion may help us complete the masterpiece she came so close to finishing herself.

NACHLASS will be what comes afterward.

Using Lore’s surviving manuscript, the materials recovered from her devices and accounts, the files unlocked by her readers, and the endings submitted by those who join the search, NBodied Writing House intends to reconstruct and publish the completed novel we believe Lore was preparing us to find.

It will be a continuation of her work, assembled from her words and completed with the help of her friends and the readers she trusted to look more closely.
